According to ChainCatcher, Galaxy Research analyzed the growth of the Bitcoin L2 ecosystem in 2024 in its latest report, pointing out that as of now, venture capital in the Bitcoin L2 field has reached US$447 million, of which 39% of the investment occurred in the first three quarters of 2024. From January to September 2024, Bitcoin L2 projects received US$174 million in financing, of which US$105 million went to sidechain projects, while US$63 million went to rollups projects.
Galaxy estimates that approximately $47 billion of Bitcoin liquidity could be connected to the Bitcoin L2 network by 2030. The agency believes that traditional crypto venture capital firms (excluding Bitcoin-focused funds) will have little involvement in the Bitcoin ecosystem before 2024. As the ecosystem matures, crypto venture capital firms will continue to deploy funds to Bitcoin L2 projects.
