According to sources, President-elect Trump is considering listing Teresa Goody Guillén, partner at BakerHostetler and co-head of the blockchain team, as one of the candidates for chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Goody Guillén previously worked at the SEC and handled matters related to blockchain companies and traditional businesses with the agency. She is seen as potentially pushing the SEC towards a lighter regulatory approach. Other SEC chairman candidates include Robert Stebbins, partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, Brad Bondi, partner at Paul Hastings, former SEC commissioner Paul Atkins, Robinhood's chief legal officer Dan Gallagher, and former acting Comptroller of the Currency Brian Brooks.
