RFK Jr. was often referred to as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He made headlines for his enthusiastic support of bitcoin, calling it the currency of freedom.
His statement came as he endorsed Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick for U. S. Treasury Secretary under President-elect Donald Trump. Kennedy Jr, whom Trump nominated to head the Department of Health and Human Services, has long been a vocal supporter of #Bitcoin .
Kennedy emphasized Bitcoin's value as a hedge against inflation and a solution to economic problems. He called it a means by which middle-class Americans could counter the falling value of the U. S. dollar and deal with the country's growing debt. He has always admired #cryptocurrencies as a tool for economic independence and a buffer against traditional monetary instability.
Kennedy also expressed confidence that if Howard Lutnick is appointed Treasury Secretary, he will be able to advocate policies in favor of bitcoin. In the ongoing debate over Trump's pick for the position, predictions vary. According to Polymarket, Lutnick's odds have risen to 34%, just behind Scott Bessent with 38%.

Furthermore, RFK Jr. had earlier asked the United States to create a strategic bitcoin reserve as part of a broader plan to address the sovereign debt crisis. As a longtime bitcoin investor, he has been involved in similar proposals from international leaders such as Polish presidential candidate Slawomir Mentzen.
