President-elect Donald Trump has appointed billionaire Elon Musk and businessman and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly created Board of Government Performance.

Their mission is to streamline federal bureaucracy, regulations, and budgets.

How the board works is under scrutiny because of the bold statements made by its two leaders, such as billionaire Musk’s plan to cut $2 trillion in government spending.

Speaking from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate on November 14, billionaire Musk stressed that the agency would not operate in the usual way: "This will be a revolution," Politico reported.

According to a post on social network X, Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy are expected to update via livestream every week.

Previously, billionaire Musk also announced that he would post the activities of the Government Performance Board online for maximum transparency.

The two heads of the agency are expected to tap public "brainpower" to tackle wasteful government programs.

“Too much red tape, less innovation, and higher costs. That’s a real problem with the FDA, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and countless other agencies. They are completely indifferent as their day-to-day decisions stifle innovation and create costs that hinder progress,” Ramaswamy wrote on X on November 15.

During his campaign, the businessman pledged to cut a handful of agencies, including the NRC, as well as at least 75 percent of federal employees.

The Government Performance Board is now recruiting high-IQ talent. But it will be... free.

"We need government revolutionaries with extremely high IQs, willing to work 80+ hours/week. If you are suitable, send your CV directly to this account. Elon and Vivek will consider the top 1% of candidates," the official X account of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) posted a "recruitment notice".

“Indeed, this would be a boring job, make a lot of enemies, and pay zero,” Musk responded to one interested person.
