Guys, I've had enough. This is the final straw.
Either you guys go build something on your own, or continue to run OpenAI as a nonprofit. I will no longer fund OpenAI until you make a firm commitment, or I'd be a fool basically giving you free money to build a startup.
End of discussion.

Comment: This was almost fatal.
Repost:
hagaetc.eth :
So I tried to build a tech company in Norway and here’s what happened:
1. Two years of construction with almost no funding/subsidy, and no salaries for most of the year
2. Obtained venture capital and became one of Norway's first unicorns
3. Face a wealth tax bill for unrealized gains that is several times my annual net salary. Of course the company is losing money and all investors have preferred stock, so I can't take any money out.
4. Publicly declare that this does not make sense. When you actually make money, you need to be taxed, no matter what the level.
5. I moved to Switzerland because no politicians care/listen to me.
6. I still haven’t received any viable answers to my criticisms of the unrealized gains tax, but I did get put on the “wall of shame” at the Socialist Party office…
I'm Norwegian and I love Norway, but the socialist politicians are leading the country down a dark path. This is the reality version (Atlas Shrugged).

Repost: 🇦🇷 MILEI is cutting import taxes

To promote the opening up of Argentina’s economy,

Import taxes are being cut so that consumers can buy cheaper goods.

Starting from December, the duty-free limit for international shopping will increase from US$1,000 per package to US$3,000, and personal imported goods will enjoy a US$400 tariff reduction.

Economy Minister Luis Caputo said the move would allow Argentine shoppers to pay only value-added tax on many imported goods.

Repost: This really happened. This all happened.

The text on the picture is "THE AVERAGE HARD WORKING NORMAL AMERICAN" and "TRUMP DUNKING ON THE LIBS EVERYDAY". It can be seen that this picture expresses a supportive attitude towards Trump, emphasizing the hard work of ordinary Americans and Trump's dominance over liberals. However, it is difficult to determine more specific scenes and meanings from the text of the picture alone.

Repost: Sweden did not implement a lockdown, which is the best outcome in Europe.

Doctors launched a massive disinformation campaign to promote lockdown measures to the American people.

They say we should be worried about President Robert F. Kennedy (RFK), Jr.

Doctors have done more harm to America than RFK Jr. did.

This chart shows the cumulative excess deaths for Sweden and OECD countries. Cumulative refers to the sum of the difference between the average number of deaths before the pandemic and the actual number of deaths that occurred since January 2020. As can be seen from the figure, Sweden's cumulative excess mortality rate is 3%, which is lower than some other countries such as Australia's 7%. The time span in the figure is from October 2020 to 2023. In addition, the picture also mentions the blog about this method and the data sources are OECD, Eurostat and (spectator) calculations, and the data was created by Datawrapper.

Repost: This is without a doubt the most concise and accurate explanation of why what Donald Trump is trying to do will actually restore democracy rather than bring about dictatorship

Comments: Wow, this is crazy

Repost: The Socialist Party has erected a "wall of shame" in its office, which reads "Rich people leaving Norway" - because they are now subject to high taxes.

Who did you find on that wall?

A startup founder like this is forced to leave the country because he has to pay his entire income (!!) as taxes.

When the Soviet Union becomes a model for your country, it's time to get out.

Repost: New border chief Tom Homan says under the Biden-Harris administration, Laken Riley’s killer was given a free plane ticket to a city of his choice, free lodging, free food, and now a lawyer paid for by American taxpayers.

Absolutely disgusting.
