Trump nominated Jay Clayton, former chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as prosecutor for the Southern District of New York. While serving as chairman of the SEC from 2017 to 2020, Clayton led multiple enforcement actions in the crypto space, including lawsuits against ICO projects Kik and Telegram, and against Ripple, accusing it of raising funds through unregistered XRP sales. Gary Gensler said that Clayton's enforcement efforts in the crypto market kept the SEC on its toes. (TheBlock)
