According to ChainCatcher, as reported by Crypto-News-Flash, Chile's consumer protection agency SERNAC has issued a notice to World (formerly Worldcoin) and Rappi, demanding that they cease iris scanning activities in the country.
It is reported that Rappi has clarified that Rippi and World have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at conducting a pilot test for on-demand human proof services, with the relevant iris scanning program set to trial in Argentina in 2024, rather than in Chile as previously speculated. However, SERNAC claims to have received multiple reports related to World’s operations in the country, including the registration of minors into the system, the operator's failure to disclose data, and the inability to delete data from the system.
