In line with this commitment, we present our Privacy Center, a new feature that consolidates various tools to exercise privacy rights in a convenient location and allows users to download their personal account data automatically and directly from our platform.
We are proud to say that we are among the first in the cryptocurrency industry to allow direct downloads of personal account data, simplifying the exercise of our users' privacy rights.
Optimized access for better control
Previously, users had to contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO) via email or web form to obtain a copy of their data. While our DPO team remains available through both channels for support, users can now download their personal data directly from the Binance app.
This feature is intuitive and allows users to obtain their information on demand, facilitating greater access and control over their personal data. With just a few clicks, users can access their personal data stored by Binance, including basic profile information, withdrawals, deposits, and trading history. Additionally, users can generate a new report every seven days, ensuring they always have updated information at their fingertips.
How to download your personal data on Binance
Here is a step-by-step guide to help you download your personal data using Binance's new feature:
Log into your Binance account:
Open the Binance app or website and log in with your account credentials. Make sure to use the Binance app version 2.91.0 or higher to access this feature.
Navigate to Privacy Settings:
Go to the account settings section.
Select "Privacy Center" from the menu to access your data and privacy options.
3. Request data download:
In the Privacy Center, you will find an option called "Download personal data". Click there to start the process.
Note: If you access Binance through the web browser, follow the same procedure via Settings > Privacy Center > Download personal data. The webpage will look slightly different from your mobile app.
4. Enter the required information:
You will need to provide your email address and create a secure 8-digit numeric password to protect your data file. Make sure the password is unique and easy to remember, as it will be necessary to access the downloaded file.
Remember that a personal file can only be downloaded once every seven days. If you need an additional download within that period, our DPO team can assist you through the web form.
5. Receive a confirmation email:
Binance will send a confirmation email with a link to download your personal data file. Check your inbox for this email and make sure to verify that the sender is legitimate to avoid potential phishing attempts.
The email will include the button "Download your file". Click this button to continue.
6. Download your information:
Once you have clicked on the download link, your data will be downloaded to your device in an encrypted format.
Your personal data file will be available for your review after entering the password. Make sure to store this file securely on your device.
7. Access and review your data:
After accessing it, you can open the file to review your profile, transaction history, and other account information.
