According to Decrypt, French multinational company Schneider Electric has suffered a 'Hellcat' ransomware attack, with hackers demanding a ransom of $125,000 in French bread or the privacy coin Monero, otherwise they will release 40GB of sensitive data. The hackers claim to have confidential data, including customer and operational information, and threaten to leak the data if their demands are not met. This is the third time Schneider Electric has faced a cyberattack in two years. In June of this year, the company was also affected by a 'CL0P' ransomware attack.
