Odaily Planet Daily News: Anthony Mwaura, the Director of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), recently revealed that the Kenyan government has collected $77.5 million (10 billion shillings) in taxes from 384 cryptocurrency traders for the fiscal year 2023-24. KRA's goal is to tax cryptocurrency traders over $465 million. Overall, the agency aims to collect $15.88 billion in the next five years, with the cryptocurrency sector identified as a primary target by the Kenyan government. In order to enhance its capacity to collect more taxes from the cryptocurrency sector, KRA recently proposed the installation of a real-time tax system integrated with cryptocurrency exchanges.
