Hut 8, a major Bitcoin miner, is set to boost its self-mining hash rate by 66% in early 2025 after securing a deal to purchase 31,145 Bitmain Antminer S21+ machines. The company will pay $15 per terahash for these miners, expected to arrive in Q1 2025. This upgrade will elevate Hut 8's hash rate from 5.6 EH/s to 9.3 EH/s. Additionally, a purchase option with Bitmain could further increase their capacity to 24 EH/s by Q2 2025. The new machines promise a 37% improvement in fleet efficiency, enhancing Hut 8's investment returns and value creation.
