Imagine that #Bitcoin is a rare metal mined by thousands of "miners" using computers. And so, every four years an event called halving occurs — the reward for "mining" bitcoins is halved. This means that new coins become even rarer, as if the supply is decreasing.
After acquisition, there is usually a strong price increase, because people realize that there will now be even fewer bitcoins, and they start buying them. About a year after purchase, the price often rises until it peaks, and then a decline begins and the price stabilizes. And so on — every four years. It resembles natural cycles: periods of growth and calm.
