This choice involves balancing sovereignty and ecosystem integration, which has a significant impact on its validator network.
GnosisDAO said that the Layer1 path maintains Gnosis's full autonomy in governance and protocol development, retains its role as a trusted neutral blockchain space, and allows independent development without relying on Ethereum's roadmap. Transitioning to Layer2 can create a truly decentralized L2 solution that solves the core weaknesses of the current L2 centralized sequencer.
