Anonymous developers want $116K to work on Terra Classic (LUNC) “resurrection”

Six developers who call themselves the “six samurai” have come together to try to revive the original version of the melted cryptocurrency LUNA, which was renamed Terra Classic (LUNC) after the Terra blockchain was split between Terra Classic (the original blockchain) and Terra 2.0 (the new network generated in May 2022).

Over the weekend, a group of developers led by “Bilbo Baggins” and “Solid Snake” published a governance proposal that aims to “add value to the Terra Classic blockchain to push the chain to where it deserves to go.”

If the proposal is approved, the “six samurai” promise to dedicate themselves for three months to building the necessary improvements to boost the network. To do this, they want the community to agree to give them US$116,000 to finance the work of the six developers for one quarter.

As CoinDesk points out, some of the promises listed in the proposal include making network upgrades to reduce synchronization time between nodes, launching a testnet of TerraUSD (USTC) — the former UST algorithmic stablecoin —, an application to generate

yield to token holders and a plan to reward developers for the user activity generated by their applications.

“LUNC has unlimited growth potential and we want to help realize it by leveraging our skills to bring value to the blockchain and all its stakeholders for a true ecosystem renaissance. To achieve this, we are prepared to do the hard work,” the anonymous developer group promises.
