Pixels goes all out for Halloween
The popular social open-world farming game Pixels has launched a Halloween event, giving players spooky new challenges, collectibles, and mini-games to play throughout October.
One game, “Dennis the Dentist’s Haunted Harvest,” gives players the chance to collect spooky “teeth” prizes by smashing different colored skulls for digital points, which can be redeemed for materials to craft jack-o’-lanterns, which unlock limited-edition costumes.
Pixels will also be partnering with gaming protocol Yield Guild Games to host a Halloween Vibrant Party on October 31, which will feature special guests, exclusive quests, and a spooky virtual costume contest.
(Ghost in the Shell) NFT Series Launched for Anime Fans and Collectors
The Japanese cyberpunk world of Ghost in the Shell is about to enter the web3 realm with its first NFT series, which will be released on October 31st. Fans of the series can now own digital collectibles inspired by characters from the 1995 anime film.
The series launched on Animoca Brands Japan’s NFT platform SORAH, with sales beginning at 12:00 JST on October 31.
Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund Invests in Infinex’s Patron NFT
Infinex, a DeFi platform that supports multiple blockchain networks, has received investment from the fund of PayPal co-founder and venture capitalist Peter Thiel. The funds are reportedly part of a $68 million financing round that will help Infinex develop digital tools for creators and make navigation across multiple protocols easier.
Other major backers include venture capital firms such as Wintermute Ventures, Framework Ventures, and Solana Ventures, as well as individual blockchain leaders such as Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin, Solana’s Anatoly Yakovenko, and Aave’s Stani Kulechov.
Kraken Launches New Ethereum L2 Based on Optimism Superchain
Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is entering the Layer 2 (L2) space with the launch of a new Ethereum-compatible solution built on Optimism’s massive blockchain network Superchain.
The new L2 is designed to support faster and more affordable transactions, helping Kraken increase services for its growing web3 user base. The platform uses Optimism’s OP Stack, which is reportedly one of the most widely used L2 rollups today.
Polygon Enhances Cross-Chain Interoperability with ERC-7683 Integration
Polygon, Ethereum’s main L2 scaling network, has now launched support for ERC-7683 on all three of its core platforms. ERC-7683 is a token standard designed to simplify interoperability. ERC-7683 is known as a “cross-chain intent” interface that aims to help developers better connect applications on various chains without having to transfer or “bridge” them.
The new integration promises to make it easier for users to access digital goods and data from multiple blockchains in one unified place, an improvement that could open up exciting new ways for developers to build applications compatible with DeFi, gaming, and digital payments across blockchains.

MLS Quest Launches on Sui Blockchain
Major League Soccer (MLS) has partnered with cryptocurrency startup Sweet to launch MLS Quest, a new NFT collectibles platform on the Sui blockchain that debuted on October 28, giving fans a new way to collect “moment of the match” medals or digital highlights of game highlights.
The medals are available for claiming online or at in-person pick-up areas at stadiums across North America, and fans who collect a full set of four medals in a single game can unlock exclusive rewards such as signed jerseys, team merchandise and tickets.
Moonray’s GOLDSPAWN NFT is sold out
Moonray, a blockchain gaming studio best known for its recently launched multiplayer arena combat game, announced on Oct. 24 that its latest NFT minting quickly sold out.
The success of the minting marks a milestone for the ever-expanding Moonray Universe, as the studio hinted at a host of new benefits coming to GOLDSPAWN holders, including access to unique seasonal items, additional Battle Passes, and invites to future game tests.
OpenSea and Art Blocks Partner to Empower NFT Creators
Ahead of the fourth annual Art Blocks Marfa Weekend, November 14-17, 2024, OpenSea is excited to announce a partnership with Art Blocks, the renowned generative art platform.
As part of the collaboration, artists will be able to use a new custom Art Blocks Engine contract when publishing their work on OpenSea, and the two companies will also collaborate on product development roadmaps, jointly demo new features, and iterate on other platform upgrades.
