PANews reported on October 31, according to Cointelegraph, that MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor seems to have been misled by a social media post containing false information regarding Trump's stance on cryptocurrency taxation. On October 30, Saylor quoted Trump in a post on X to his more than 3.6 million followers, stating that cryptocurrency should not be taxed and that 'Bitcoin is money.'
According to an investigation, this false citation originated from the X account Basedkarbon, which claimed in a post on October 28 that the Republican candidate made the above statement in a 'recent interview.' Basedkarbon commented on Saylor's post on October 30: 'The fact that cryptocurrency is not taxed is a reflection of how information spreads; something is true simply because someone claims it to be true. The whole world is people saying things and making them true.'
