Waking up to see that ACT has fallen back to 25m again, what’s going on? I will try to objectively clarify the situation:
The main reason is the disagreement between ACT's developers (dev) and the community regarding whether the coins in the hands of the dev should be locked and released linearly.
Initially, when ACT was deployed, 6% of the tokens were allocated to AMP, which is the main developer of ACT. Starting from three days ago, AMP has been regularly selling 0.3% of the tokens daily, and with each sale, there has been a wave of panic in the market.
The community suggests that since ACT is aimed at supporting the development of the ACT AI project, the dev can sell tokens, but they hope for a locked and linear release, along with a clear selling plan. This could reduce the trust crisis caused by frequent selling pressure, rather than just focusing on the selling pressure itself.
AMP has not responded, and last night he tweeted explaining that due to his grandmother's passing, he has been dealing with family matters recently, so he cannot reply for the time being. At the same time, he expressed that he hopes ACT's supporters understand the project and its future vision, rather than being mere speculators.
However, he has not stated whether he will lock the coins, and like two days ago, he continues to sell a portion of the tokens on schedule. This has caused dissatisfaction among some large holders, leading to a continued drop in price.
Personally, I believe there is no fundamental conflict between the community and the developers, just differing philosophies: the dev believes every project will go through ups and downs, and true supporters will persist through the fluctuations; while the community believes that locking and linear release is a reasonable demand that does not affect support for the project.
The above is my summary of the recent disagreement between the ACT community and the dev, aiming for objectivity.
From my perspective, although communication has had its ups and downs, the issues will ultimately be resolved. I still have confidence in ACT's future and choose to continue holding. But I must remind you that the world of memes is highly volatile, and prices can easily be affected by minor issues.
Still, the same advice: invest an amount you can accept, prepare for the possibility of total loss, and continue to participate in the future development of AI memes.
