Quick take:

  • The company is also ready to add support for layer-1 network Monad upon testnet launch.

  • ApeChain’s support came following its mainnet launch on Sunday.

  • The NFT platform plans to have 10 supported blockchains by the end of the year.

Magic Eden, the leading non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace, has added support for BeraChain and ApeChain blockchains. This brings the total number of blockchains supported by the NFT platform to nine, including Ethereum, Bitcoin Ordinals, Polygon, Solana and Arbitrum.

Magic Eden is on a mission to expand that list to ten by the end of the year and is preparing to add support for layer-1 blockchain Monad once it launches its testnet.

The announcement comes just days after ApeChain, the layer-1 blockchain developed by Yuga Labs and powered by ApeCoin launched its mainnet.

According to Sunday’s announcement, ApeChain went live with over 360,000 transactions and 1,204 deployed contracts, boosting the ApeCoin price to its highest level since April. The token has since retracted to $1.31 as of this writing falling more than 15% in the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, BeraChain has three main tokens in its ecosystem: BEX, BGT and HONEY. The proof-of-liquidity blockchain secured $100 million in a Series B funding round announced in April.

According to the Dune Analytics dashboard by Sealaunch, Solana and Bitcoin are the leading blockchains in terms of transaction volume on the Magic Eden platform with 42.8% and 42%, respectively in October.

Ethereum has dropped to third with just over 15%, while Polygon has less than 1%. Solana also continues to dominate the number of sales and the number of buyers with over 72% and nearly 68%, respectively.
