The Sky platform’s decentralized finance (DeFi) community is considering returning to the original Maker branding due to confusion and negative feedback following the August rebranding.

On October 21, Sky co-founder Rune Christensen proposed a “re-centralize the Maker brand” proposal on the platform’s governance forum. Despite the successful launches of the USDS decentralized stablecoin and the Sky protocol, there has been confusion in the community regarding the roles between the Sky token and the Maker brand.

Christensen emphasized the community’s commitment to the Maker brand and suggested three possible directions: continuing with the Sky brand, re-centralizing the Maker brand to its original identity, or modernizing Maker to align with USDS.

Community feedback will be collected in a call on October 25, and a governance survey will be held on November 4 to determine the future direction. Share your thoughts in the comments!
