According to TechFlow, on October 21, Reuters reported that Mira Murati, former chief technology officer of OpenAI, is raising funds for her newly established AI startup. People familiar with the matter revealed that although the financing negotiations are still in the early stages, considering Murati's reputation and the huge resources required to train proprietary AI models, the company may raise more than $100 million.

Sources also said that Barret Zoph, a chief researcher who left OpenAI on the same day as Murati, may also be involved in the new startup. Murati's new company is reportedly focused on developing AI products based on proprietary models, but it is not clear whether she will serve as CEO.

Murati left OpenAI a month ago after serving as the company’s CTO for more than a year. During her six years at OpenAI, she led the development of major projects such as ChatGPT and DALL-E, and played a key role in the company’s multi-billion dollar partnership with Microsoft, its largest financial backer.
