The Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA)'s neighborhood art project "Interest on the Street Corner" invites everyone to re-examine this issue. Art integrates into urban alleys: Interest exhibition on street corners opens

From October 12 to December 8, 2024, the neighborhood art project "Interest on the Street Corner" organized by Taipei Contemporary Museum will continue to be on display. The curatorial team Sandwich Worker leads 6 artists to invite The audience walks through urban alleys and experiences the power of art. The concept of this exhibition is to regard art as an investment. Each work symbolizes a "deposit" in imagination, giving back priceless feelings and more free time.

Philanthropic innovation combines art to create an imaginative investment portfolio

This exhibition is curated by Sandwich Worker, who has long been committed to promoting the value of inclusion, and invites artists Qiu Zhihua, Tanaka Xun, Lin Yanzhu, Lu Yingyu, Huang Pinling and Zheng Xianyu to participate, forming a creative "art portfolio". Each artist's works reflect in-depth thinking about life and emotions, showing how to gain spiritual freedom through creativity.

Create an artistic experience of freedom and imagination

The exhibition location covers every corner of Zhongshan District in Taipei City, from the lanes on the west side of the Contemporary Museum to the Nanxi Business District to the Heart Mountain Linear Park. As the audience walks, they will constantly encounter various art works. Lu Yingyu’s (Poem Looking at the City) dialogues between poetry and urban space, while Tanaka Kaoru’s (Blue Flow) presents the connection between humans and nature through a super-large LED screen. Lin Yanzhu's work (Eternal Loop) uses NFT and circuit board devices to explore the transformation of matter and spirit. These works are like a rich artistic portfolio, bringing priceless feelings to the viewer.

This exhibition also combines the museum-school cooperation plan between the Contemporary Museum and Jiancheng Junior High School, and the two sets of artistic achievements are displayed simultaneously. Small Things Production led students to complete a (Body Sketching Project) that explores spatial awareness and physical expression, while fiber artist Lin Zifen's (Borderline Creature Group Portraits) used recycled materials to create sculptures full of ecological atmosphere. These works show how students rethink their connection with the environment and discover the beauty in life through art.

Luo Lizhen, director of the Contemporary Museum, said at the press conference: "This neighborhood art project not only extends culture and art to the neighborhood, but also deepens the impact of art and education through long-term cooperation with Jiancheng Junior High School." She emphasized that such Activities can not only promote community identity, but also bring more power and participation in art to the community.

Participate in diverse activities to provide a comprehensive artistic experience

During the exhibition, the Contemporary Pavilion and the Sandwich Art curatorial team will organize a series of activities to allow the audience to participate in different ways. From sign language art tours, non-visual tours to parent-child handicrafts and body workshops, audiences can experience the charm of art through interaction. In addition, the Contemporary Museum has also cooperated with the Kairos platform to launch the "Proof of Presence" activity. Visitors can obtain a copy of their own art record when participating in guided tours or workshops.
