Survey: Nearly 76% of private investors in Asia own cryptocurrencies

According to a new report from analysts at Aspen Digital, 76% of private investors in Asia already own digital assets, and another 18% plan to invest in cryptocurrencies. That's up from the 58% the Hong Kong-based wealth management platform recorded in 2022.

In a new report, Aspen Digital analyzed responses from 80 family businesses and high-net-worth individuals across Asia. The survey found that 70% of investors have less than 5% of their investment portfolios in cryptocurrency. However, some have increased the share of digital assets to more than 10% in 2024.

Investors from Asia are most interested in profiting from blockchain projects. Thus, about 60% of respondents showed interest in decentralized finance (DeFi), and 61% in artificial intelligence and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN). Almost 53% of retail investors said they have access to digital assets through ETFs launched this year.
