According to Foresight News, Tether published a statement saying that as of the end of the third quarter of 2024, 330 million on-chain wallets and accounts (user agents) had received USDT, with more new users each quarter than the previous quarter, and an average growth of 9% over the past four quarters. The third quarter of 2024 was its fastest growing quarter to date, welcoming 36.25 million users.

Tether said that USDT is most used on Tron, Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum, and the fastest growth in the past year came from Ethereum Layer2: Optimism, Arbitrum and Polygon, as well as Avalanche and Solana. USDT has experienced explosive growth on TON, adding 3.3 million users in just six months, accounting for 1% of all USDT chain users.
