On October 15, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin proposed a major update to Ethereum's proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. He suggested reducing the threshold of ETH staked by validators from 32 to 1 to promote the democratization of staking and enhance the decentralization of the network.
