According to TechFlow, on October 10, CoinDesk reported that Uniswap Labs, the development team of the decentralized exchange Uniswap, announced the launch of its own Layer 2 network Unichain. The network is built on Optimism's OP Stack technology and is scheduled to be launched on the test network on October 10.

Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams said Unichain aims to provide a faster and cheaper trading experience and improve liquidity. The new network will become part of the Optimism ecosystem Superchain, forming a Layer-2 network alliance with projects such as Coinbase's Base.

Unichain will introduce several technological innovations, including a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) developed in partnership with Flashbots for block construction, and a community verification network. TEE is expected to reduce block construction times to 200-250 milliseconds, significantly faster than the Ethereum mainnet and other Layer-2 networks.
