The community is paying close attention to HBO's upcoming film about Satoshi Nakamoto - the father of Bitcoin. On October 3, HBO released a trailer for its latest documentary, claiming to reveal the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto - one of the biggest mysteries in finance & technology.
Director Hoback has not revealed specifically who Satoshi Nakamoto will be in the trailer, but traders in the prediction market Polymarket have been quick to place bets on the person most likely to be mentioned by HBO.
44.5% of traders bet that Len Sassaman is the person mentioned in the film. Other potential candidates include Bitcoin programmer Hal Finney (14%), computer scientist Adam Back (9.3%), programming expert Nick Szabo (7.9%), etc.
Len Sassaman is a well-known figure in the Cypherpunks community - a movement to protect privacy on computers. Sassaman worked on projects such as Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) software and the GNU Privacy Guard update. Despite his talent, Sassaman suffered from depression as a teenager. On July 3, 2011, Sassaman decided to leave at the age of 31.
