A new Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) will reduce Ethereum’s block times by 33% and increase data capacity — thereby increasing overall throughput by 50%, according to developers, CoinVoice has learned.
Introduced on October 5 by Illyriad Games co-founder Ben Adams, EIP-7781 aims to reduce block times on the Ethereum network from the current 12 seconds to 8 seconds, increase rollup-based latency, and increase the capacity of blobs (a temporary data structure used to reduce fees on the Layer 2 network).
