According to ChainCatcher, federal officials in the United States said that the suspect in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is Ryan Routh, 58. According to CNN, Routh was born in 1966 and has lived in Hawaii. He has eight arrest records, all for minor crimes.

It is also reported that Routh often posts about politics and donates specifically to Democratic candidates, and these donations can be traced back to 2019. He also criticized Trump in a post on April 22, in which he declared, "Democracy is on the ballot, and we can't lose."
