Russia accounted for up to 28% of traffic on crypto exchanges in August

The share of Russian traffic on the exchange reached 28% in August, according to the estimate of journalist Colin Wu of the Wu Blockchain publication.

Last month, Russia accounted for approximately 11% of visits from Russia on the exchange, while HTX accounted for 17%. Other crypto exchanges popular among Russians include Bitfinex and Kucoin. On the Deribit exchange, which specializes in cryptocurrency derivatives, the share of visits from Russia was 19%.

The overall increase in traffic from July to August was observed only on , with the latter recording a more than twofold increase in traffic compared to the previous month. Traffic on all other major exchanges fell in August.

The largest share of visitors from the United States in August was recorded on the Coinbase (62%) and Crypto com (29%) exchanges. A significant portion of the traffic of the largest exchange by trading volume, Binance, came from Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam (6-7% for each country).
