Recently, Epic Games, the company behind "Fortnite", announced that it would lay off 16% of its employees, or about 830 employees. CEO Tim Sweeney said layoffs were the only way to stabilize the company's finances. While Epic Games' recent growth has been driven by the Fortnite Creator program, the shift has led to lower profit margins. It is also reported that Epic Games will also sell the recently acquired music website Bandcamp and spin off its marketing company SuperAwesome. Employees who are laid off will receive six months of severance pay, and employees living in the United States, Canada and Brazil will also receive six months of paid health care.
