According to Odaily Planet Daily, a former Biden administration official has agreed to protect the hybrid working rights of tens of thousands of U.S. Social Security Administration employees.
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), which represents 42,000 Social Security Administration workers, reached an agreement last week with the agency to guarantee telework through 2029 in an updated contract, according to an email to union members.
Rich Couture, president of the AFGE chapter, said the new agreement, signed by Biden’s recently departed Social Security Administrator, Martin O’Malley, will allow employees to “maintain their current level of telework.”
