North Korean hacker group Lazarus, linked to a recent cryptocurrency hack, may be involved in the latest cryptocurrency cybercrime, CoinDesk reports, citing data from blockchain expert ZachXBT. The CoinEx exchange was hacked to the tune of approximately $27 million, which later increased to $54 million. Hackers stole ETH, XRP, TRX, MATIC, SOL, KDA and XDAG tokens by exploiting the weak security of the wallets used by the exchange. ZachXBT's analysis of wallets showed that some transactions were directed to wallets involved in the $41 million hack of the Stake cryptocurrency platform. These wallets are associated with the Lazarus group. CoinEx said the affected funds represent a small portion of total user funds and all remaining assets on the exchange "remain safe."
