According to TechFlow, Hong Kong Legislative Council member Wu Jiezhuang expressed his views on Trump’s speech at the US Bitcoin Summit. His main points are as follows:
Bitcoin and Web3 are important nodes in the development of globalization, and global common development should be encouraged.
It is believed that Bitcoin can be considered to be included in the official fiscal reserves of a country or region. As the global recognition of Bitcoin increases, it can be studied in the future to include it in the strategic fiscal reserves under compliance conditions.
Call on Hong Kong to accelerate the development of the Web3 ecosystem. Hong Kong is in a leading position in compliance supervision and industry development, and should further build an ecosystem to attract global talents, funds and projects.
Wu Jiezhuang said that he will discuss the feasibility of incorporating Bitcoin into fiscal reserves with all parties in Hong Kong and report the situation in due course.
He stressed that Hong Kong is actively promoting technological and financial innovation, and the SAR government will open up the market responsibly and gradually.
