At the same time as the surge in transaction volume, the number of active addresses on Base also hit a historical high. The number of active addresses increased from 567,000 on July 15th to nearly 650,000 on July 19th (Friday), with an average daily growth rate of about 3.5% over the same period.

Meanwhile, Base's fees have seen a significant surge, with fees collected on July 20th reaching the highest daily total in over a month at $BTC In terms of total value locked (TVL) on the chain, Base still lags behind Arbitrum.
