Maya Parbhoe, a presidential candidate for the South American country of Suriname, said that once in office, Bitcoin (BTC) will be made a legal tender, according to Odaily Planet Daily.

She plans to gradually replace the Surinamese dollar with satoshis within the first year and ensure that all salaries are paid in BTC, aiming to create a Bitcoin nation that is more deeply rooted in cryptocurrency than El Salvador.

Maya Parbhoe's subsequent plans also include disbanding the central bank, cutting taxes, privatizing public services, issuing national Bitcoin bonds, and promoting broad deregulation.
