According to Odaily Planet Daily, Ethereum developer Paul Berg released proposal EIP-7809, which aims to improve the user experience of transferring tokens and enhance the innovation potential of Ethereum L2 applications.
The proposal proposes adding backwards-compatible extensions to the EVM, allowing fungible tokens to operate with "native-like" properties. ETH is the native token of Ethereum, and other tokens lack its "native" characteristics.
EIP-7809 introduces four new opcodes: MINT & BURN for managing token supply; BALANCEOF for checking token balances; NTCALL for token transfers for contract calls; and NTCREATE for creating contracts with upfront token deposits.
