Since 2016, the real estate market and the Bitcoin market have experienced very different trajectories.

In 2016, a house worth $288,000 (or about 664 Bitcoin at the time) increased in value to $328,000 in 2020 (about 45 Bitcoin). In 2024, that same house would be worth $434,000 today, or just 6.6 Bitcoin.
This increase of 52% over 8 years represents an average annual return of around 6%. This is a respectable performance, but it falls far short of Bitcoin's spectacular gains.

In 2016, one Bitcoin was worth around $430. By 2020, its value had risen to $29,000, and by 2024, it reached $72,000.
Over 8 years, Bitcoin has therefore seen an increase of more than 15,000%, or an average annual return of around 1,800%.
