Binance Scammers are at Work! Here are the Survival Tactics
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, gave examples of some frauds on social media.
Cryptocurrency fraudsters are reaching investors using Binance's name and trying to steal their money.
They are impersonating Binance employees
Scammers reach out to Binance users as “financial advisors” via Telegram and offer them a so-called airdrop opportunity. The fraudsters then demand a fee from the user and try to perform a phishing attack.
Similarly, bots that appear to belong to Binance are also being imitated. Scammers try to gain the trust of users with names such as “Binance Support”.
Some fraudsters impersonate Binance's customer representatives and promise investors several times the return in exchange for certain amounts of crypto money. A user was promised that if he deposited $100, he would earn another $10 within 24 hours.
There is a high probability that they are scammers
According to Binance's recommendation, Telegram users should pay attention to the username of the people they are talking to and should not rely on the information in the bio section.
Binance said, “Scammers hide usernames by including official information in the bio section to deceive users.” In addition, it was advised that "If a Telegram user's account information is written in the bio section, that user is most likely a fraudster."
