According to WuSay, the SB325 bill introduced in the Oklahoma Senate allows state employees, businesses and individuals to pay or receive wages, salaries and other expenses in Bitcoin.
The bill exempts digital asset companies that do not conduct U.S. dollar transactions from the requirement to obtain a money transmission license. The state treasurer will have until January 1, 2026 to sign a contract with a company that processes bitcoin payments.
The Tax Commission is required to issue tax guidance on digital asset payments by the same date. The bill will officially take effect on November 1, 2025.
