Cygaar believes that L2 is the only way for the Ethereum ecosystem to compete with the new L1. L2 provides a balance between decentralization and fast and cheap transactions. In the long run, L2 will help Ethereum surpass the new L1.
He concluded that although L2 reduces the value accumulation of L1 in the short term, in the long run, L2 is beneficial to Ethereum and will be the way for Ethereum to defeat the new L1.
