$WLD #wordcoin The Ministry of Production, Science and Technological Innovation of the province of Buenos Aires ordered the accusation of the company Worldcoin, after the Provincial Directorate for the Defense of Consumer Rights detected the inclusion of abusive clauses incorporated in the contracts of adhesion that they force to accept, in alleged violation of the National Consumer Protection Law.
“It is worth asking if the biometric data is stored or if it is immediately deleted, if there are databases where it is stored and where the personal data of users in Argentina is stored,” observes Ariel Aguilar, undersecretary of Commercial Development. and Promotion of Investments of the Province, an organization on which the Provincial Directorate for the Defense of Consumer Rights depends. “The complexity of these contracts, the novelty of the operation deployed, the legal good that is at stake and the lack of information, prevent a clear and full understanding of the rules and operation of this entire operation,” adds Aguilar.
In these adhesion contracts, called “Terms and Conditions of Use”, “Privacy Notice” and “Data Consent Form”, Worldcoin would incur different violations.
The inspections carried out by the Province determined that the company does not display signs indicating that the minimum age requirement to access the service is 18 years, which would imply the scanning of personal data of minors.
The surveys also discovered contradictions in what was reported by the company regarding the use, protection and storage of biometric data collected from the faces and eyes of Argentine users, private information that, apparently, would be stored in Brazil.
