Filecoin's largest protocol Glif will airdrop 100 million tokens!
Glif is a liquidity leasing platform on Filecoin and the largest DeFi protocol on the network, set to launch its native token GLIF and allocate 100 million tokens to eligible users for the airdrop.
The total supply of GLIF tokens is 1 billion, of which 10% (i.e., 100 million tokens) will be used for the airdrop. These tokens will be distributed on a 1:1 basis to GLIF points holders who have at least 1 point.
Airdrop recipients will immediately receive 25% of the tokens, while the remaining 75% will vest linearly over 180 days, similar to the block reward structure of the Filecoin network. Unvested tokens will still count towards governance voting weight.
So far, Glif has issued over 82 million GLIF points and plans to make a final distribution before the token generation event (TGE), bringing the potential total to 100 million.
While the TGE date has not yet been determined, Glif aims to have it by the end of this year or early next year. Once the airdrop claim window opens, it will remain open for 12 months.
GLIF token distribution details:
10% of the GLIF airdrop comes from a broader 35% 'community development' allocation, with the remaining 250 million tokens reserved for additional community development work. Glif states that GLIF token holders will decide on the allocation and use of the remaining 25% through a governance process, allowing the community to set priorities and manage future distributions.
