About Zilliqa

Zilliqa is a blockchain ecosystem designed to facilitate the use of decentralized applications (dApps) at scale. Launched in 2017, Zilliqa is known as one of the first blockchain networks to implement sharding, which splits blockchain infrastructure into multiple fragmented networks as a scalability solution. Zilliqa price is updated live on Binance.

ZIL is Zilliqa’s native token and is used within the Zilliqa ecosystem to transfer value, maintain network security, and facilitate the use of dApps. Zilliqa uses a unique programming language called Scilla to create and execute smart contracts and dApps.

Zilliqa’s sharding mechanism allows its network to process transactions extremely quickly. The Zilliqa network consists of multiple individual blockchains, referred to as shards. Each shard processes transactions, stores data, and adds new blocks to the shard chain, referred to as ‘microblocks’.

Microblocks are intermittently combined into a transaction block and committed to the main Zilliqa chain. The 2022 launch of the Zilliqa Metapolis Metaverse saw Zilliqa gain traction in the blockchain industry as a platform for brands and enterprises to access the Web3 economy.

People Also Ask: Other Questions About Zilliqa

  1. What is ZIL Used For?

As the native token of the Zilliqa blockchain, ZIL is used to send and receive transactions on the Zilliqa network, execute smart contracts and dApps, and reward miners. The latest ZIL price is available on Binance.

  2. How Do Network Consensus and Validation Work on Zilliqa?

In addition to proof of-work (PoW), Zilliqa uses a unique implementation of the Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus, called practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (pBFT).

Each shard chain within the Zilliqa network uses the pBFT consensus, which eliminates the need for multiple confirmations. Nodes operating on shards must reach consensus on the committal of a microblock to the Zilliqa main chain, which is committed through PoW consensus.

  3. Who is the Zilliqa Founder?

Zilliqa was founded in 2017 by Amrit Kumar and Xinshu Don.

  4. What is the Maximum Token Supply of ZIL?

ZIL is limited to a maximum supply of 21 billion tokens.

  5. What Makes Zilliqa Different From Other Blockchains?

Zilliqa is notable as one of the first blockchain networks to implement sharding as a scaling solution and is currently the first and only Layer 1 blockchain network to launch a metaverse-as-a-service platform through the Zilliqa Metapolis Metaverse.
