About Adventure Gold (AGLD)
Adventure Gold (AGLD) is the native ERC-20 token that powers the Loot non-fungible token (NFT) project. Founded by Dom Hofmann, co-founder of Vine, Loot offers a unique take on NFTs. It's a text-based, randomized adventure gear generator stored on the blockchain. As per the project, what sets Loot apart is its intentional lack of a traditional front-end interface, images, statistics, or predefined functionality. Instead, it consists of 8,000 text-based NFTs, open to interpretation by the community.
AGLD debuted on September 2, 2021, and owners of Loot NFTs could claim 10,000 AGLD tokens for free. In the early days of trading, AGLD's value skyrocketed, making this airdrop potentially worth up to $70,000 per NFT. AGLD's founder, Will Papper, envisioned creating a decentralized gaming currency to set a standard for projects built on Loot.
Will Papper, also co-founder of Syndicate DAO, crafted AGLD in response to an endorsement from Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin, who encouraged further development on the Loot project.
Currently, there are 70,170,001 AGLD tokens in circulation. The initial 8,000 Loot NFTs received a 10,000 AGLD airdrop, while the rest is gradually entering the open market. Major exchanges like Huobi and Uniswap V3 hold substantial AGLD reserves.
AGLD operates as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. AGLD primarily serves as a governance token and empowers users to vote on future in-game credits or additional minting activities built on the Loot foundation. Although it lacks a formal security audit, AGLD's governance is overseen by a multisig arrangement involving the founder and several anonymous wallets. Ethereum's Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism ensures robust security, with decentralized nodes validating transactions and safeguarding the Ethereum blockchain.
The current price of AGLD is available and updated in real time on Binance.
