About Golem (GLM)

Golem is a decentralized marketplace for peer-to-peer (P2P) computing power, where requestors seek to purchase computing power for energy-intensive processes they lack the bandwidth to complete. The Golem network hosts users who dedicate extra computing power to it for purchase and use by requestors who need this computing power.

Fees paid by buyers are primarily distributed to the users responsible for providing this computing power. The protocol operates by breaking computing power down into fractions, so that it is derived from multiple sellers. According to the network, this is the primary reason Golem operates as efficiently as it does, delivering computing power without any third-party involvement within a P2P network.

The Poland-based Golem was founded in 2016 and launched in 2018. Its native cryptocurrency, GLM, is used by requestors to purchase computing power and to pay sellers. GLM runs on the Ethereum blockchain network, enabling it to be traded and swapped on-chain with other Ethereum-based digital assets. GLM price is updated and available in real time on Binance.

People Also Ask: Other Questions About Golem

  1. What is GLM Used For?

As GLM is a ERC-20 network token, it utilizes a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. Requestors pay GLM after receiving computing power from the network and the value exchanged for this purchased power is primarily distributed to all the individual power suppliers involved.

  2. Who is the Golem Founder?

The Golem decentralized platform was founded by Julian Zawistowski, Andrzej Regulski, Piotr Janiuk, and Aleksandra Skrzypczak in 2016. It was developed by Golem Factory, which four co-founders had earlier formed. After raising around $9.3 million in a public sale of its token that year, the platform was further developed before it launched in 2018.

  3. What is the Maximum Token Supply of GLM?

GLM has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, all of which are in the circulating supply at the time of writing.

  4. What Makes Golem Different From Others?

Golem enhances the processing of computing power by utilizing a fractional system to aggregate this power from sellers on its network. Instead of using massive amounts of energy all at once from sellers who provide power to the network, Golem reportedly optimizes efficiency through this process.

  5. Is GLM Listed On Binance?

GLM is not available for trade or purchase on Binance. However, live GLM price is updated in real time on the platform. Additional GLM price and purchase information is available for informational purposes in our How to Buy Golem (GLM) Guide.
