A recent survey by Nomura Holdings and Laser Digital reveals that over half of Japanese institutional investors are considering investing in crypto within the next three years. The survey, which included 547 investment managers, found that 60% view crypto as a diversification opportunity. Most managers prefer to allocate 2-5% of their assets to crypto. Additionally, 25% of respondents held a positive impression of crypto assets. Key drivers for considering crypto include the development of crypto ETFs, investment trusts, staking, and lending options. However, counterparty risk, high volatility, and stringent regulatory requirements were cited as barriers.
