According to Odaily, Cosmos Hub has announced that it will introduce CosmWasm with the upcoming Gaia v18 upgrade set to occur in mid-July. This update will bring new features to the Hub, enhancing the functionality, utility, and cross-chain capabilities of ATOM.
In a previous announcement made in April, Cosmos Hub stated that Proposal #895 had been approved, and the community had confirmed its support for deploying a licensed model of CosmWasm on Cosmos Hub in the future. The proposal aims to use the smart contract platform CosmWasm for governance, including governance smart contracts, token-based governance, timed voting cycles, upgradable contracts, and governance tokens.
