Ripple has recently provided more information regarding the upcoming release of its new stablecoin. In a recent statement, the company disclosed that the stablecoin, called Ripple USD (RLUSD), will be introduced on both the XRP Ledger and the Ethereum blockchain by the end of this year.
RLUSD will maintain a 1:1 peg to the US dollar and will be fully supported by a mix of USD, short-term US Government bonds, and cash-equivalent assets.
