The arrest of Rui Xiang Lin, a 23-year-old man also known as "Faron," at JFK Airport in New York has brought down a major darknet drug market called Incognito Market, which was estimated to be worth $100 million.
The FBI was able to uncover Lin's true identity by tracing cryptocurrency transfers, ultimately linking him to the illegal online platform. Manhattan prosecutors revealed that Lin received funds from the market's wallet into his personal exchange account,
exposing his direct involvement.
FBI task force officer Mark Reubens testified
that the cryptocurrency trail led them straight to Lin, establishing a clear connection between the darknet site and his exchange account. This arrest is a significant milestone in the ongoing battle against criminal activities on the darknet.
