SEC Holds Silvergate Responsible for FTX Collapse: Direct Lawsuit Filed The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit against Silvergate Bank. The regulator took aim at Silvergate, which officially closed and went into liquidation last year. He accused them of misleading customers and investors about the effectiveness of compliance programs, including anti-money laundering efforts. In addition to the bank itself, the lawsuit names former CEO Alan Lane, former Chief Risk Officer Kathleen Freher, and former Chief Financial Officer Antonio Martino as defendants. In SEC court documents, In SEC filings and other public statements, SCC, Lane and Fraher misrepresented the operational and legal risks facing the Bank by falsely stating that the Bank had an effective BSA/AML compliance program tailored to the increasing risks posed by its crypto asset customers. Crypto-friendly bank Silvergate was sued by the SEC over alleged breaches that led to a $63 million settlement. The SEC notes that the bank “currently involves one of its most notorious clients, FTX (the crypto asset trading platform that imploded in November 2022). It also claimed that “FTX has conducted extensive due diligence and transaction monitoring on these customers, including their respective entities.” However, the program was “inadequate”. Silvergate staff were able to track $9 billion in transfers from FTX-related entities during the investigation, which took place less than a week after the crash. Pal predicted that the current “boring zone” is almost over and a transition to the “banana zone” is imminent, where significant market activity is expected. Pal stated that he expects a 10x increase in the market value of altcoins, excluding Ethereum, similar to patterns in the 2016-2017 crypto bull market. Savvy Finance emphasized that a major altcoin season known for significant price increases and market enthusiasm is just around the corner. Crypto analysts known as Mustache recently revealed that the 3W Gaussian Channel has turned from red to green, indicating that a strong altcoin season is approaching. However, since there is a strong transition after 2020, this is the period when maximum altcoins will be gained. Pal predicts that #Ethereum and specifically #Solana are outperforming Bitcoin, with Solana potentially making the most significant gains in its market offering. According to Raoul Pal, we are in the advancement of the “banana zone”, a promising phase for altcoins, and Solana is likely to lead the way. He emphasizes that these developments can provide great returns when they occur. The future of this year will be in the 4th quarter, when the market will rise with the elections. He also stated that the “bigger play” is altcoin season or “Banana Zone,” referring to altcoins' massive rises and parabolic price charts. Currently, Bitcoin dominates with a 52% market share. For the altcoin season to start, this rate must fall to mid-40%, as in the last cycle. Raoul Pal predicts that Ethereum will outperform Bitcoin and Solana will outperform both. He highlighted Solana's strong chart patterns and low volatility as indicators of potential high gains. According to Pal, Solana will be the best performer of the upcoming cycle.

Previous Bull Oracle Tom Lee Shares His New Prophecies for Bitcoin (BTC) Price Tom Lee, co-founder and head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors, recently joined ‘Squawk on the Street’ to discuss market predictions and the Bitcoin thesis. Lee, who also contributes to CNBC, was once again proven correct in his view that inflation will continue to cool. As we enter the second half of the year, we set a new goal for the end of the year. Lee believes S&P earnings could even beat expectations. “Now that we're halfway through the year, 2025 earnings are looking much stronger than we thought at the beginning of the year. We thought maybe 260. “Probably closer to 275, maybe 280, even closer to 285,” he said. Given the Fed's growing reasons to be dovish and the potentially softening employment outlook, Lee suggests price/earnings multiples could be higher next year. “So I would say U.S. stocks should be higher between now and the end of the year. Lee still believes that Bitcoin reaching $150,000 is a possibility. One thing to keep in mind, according to Lee, is that Bitcoin makes most of its gains every year within 10 days.
